Confirmation of current legal domicile for everyone with the same family registration code
A certificate confirming the current legal domicile of individuals with the same family registration code. If the legal domicile is in Iceland the certificate states the address, but if the legal domicile is abroad the certificate only states the country.

The certificate only confirms addresses in Iceland, if the domicile is registered abroad the certificate confirms the country of registration. Please note that the family registration code does not indicate kinship but only that specific individuals share the same legal domicile, for instance couples and children under the age of 18.
Registers Iceland now issues electronic certificates that are available in individuals’ postbox on Ísland.is. Electronic certificates are fully equivalent to paper certificates and are easy to forward as needed. The electronic certificates have an electronic signature from Registers Iceland that is very secure and trackable.
When processed the electronic certificate will be available in the postbox of the person named in the certificate. The exception being when parents or legal guardians order certificates for children or when death certificates are ordered. In those cases the certificate will be available in the postbox of the person who ordered the certificate.
