Attention!
Transfer of a legal domicile to Iceland can only be registered by coming in person to either a Registers Iceland office, located in Reykjavík or to the District Police Commissioners office in the municipality in which you reside

You must present a valid legal ID (Passport, Icelandic driver‘s license or Travel ID).

Please note that a change of address must be registered within 7 days of arrival in Iceland.

If a cohabitation came to an end with a move abroad, the cohabitation is not registered again unless Registers Iceland receives a notice thereof on a special form.
