Registers Iceland is authorized to refuse the issuance of a
ID card as a travel document due to the following points:
- A person does not have Icelandic citizenship.

The applicant is wanted by the police, an arrest warrant has been issued, applicant has been placed under a travel restriction and/or has not served sentences.
- The consent from the guardian of a child under the age of 18 is missing.
- The consent from the guardian for a person who has been declared incapable is missing.

The applicant cannot properly identify himself, herself, themself or provide necessary information for the application.
Registers Iceland is authorized to refuse the issuance of a
ID card not as a travel document due to the following points:
- A person does not have Icelandic citizenship.
- The consent from the guardian of a child younger than 13 is missing.
- The applicant cannot properly identify himself, herself, themself or provide the necessary information for the application.
