Registers Iceland is authorized to refuse the issuance of a ID card as a travel document due to the following points:
- A person does not have Icelandic citizenship.
- The applicant is wanted by the police, an arrest warrant has been issued, applicant has been placed under a travel restriction and/or has not served sentences.
- The consent from the guardian of a child under the age of 18 is missing.
- The consent from the guardian for a person who has been declared incapable is missing.
- The applicant cannot properly identify himself, herself, themself or provide necessary information for the application.
- A person does not have Icelandic citizenship.
- The consent from the guardian of a child younger than 13 is missing.
- The applicant cannot properly identify himself, herself, themself or provide the necessary information for the application.
